You've been told so many times that you're too sensitive. Other people seem to be able to let things go, but it's harder for you. You hate "overreacting," but you can't seem to help it, and it's frustrating to your family, friends, or spouse. You wonder if maybe there's something wrong with you that can't be fixed. Why can't you just get it together and be an adult? I can help you learn to better manage your reactions, while also developing compassion and understanding of your underlying strengths.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Connecticut and I am honored to hold healing space for people struggling with emotions related to recent, chronic, and intergenerational trauma. I have a special interest in working with adults who are held back by perfectionism and anxiety, as well as people who have experienced difficulties assimilating to a culture different from their own. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, and I often use EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems and Mindfulness. I am queer- and neurodivergence-affirming, and I value inclusivity, authenticity, and the strengths of every individual. I practice from a place of humility and am committed to social justice in my work. If the way I work sounds like a good fit for you, I would love to hear from you.
I accept clients with Husky/Medicaid, Cigna/Evernorth, Anthem BCBS, United/Optum/Connecticare, Aetna, and Medicare insurance or those who are paying out of pocket. Visit our Finances & Insurance page for more complete information.
