Dear Journal:

It’s been one of those days. One thing after another after another. I am so overwhelmed so frustrated, mad, distraught - everything negative you can think of. Why does everyone make life out to be so fun and easy? Its not! I literally feel like I’m sinking… like no matter how hard I try to be positive, to think happy thoughts, to try affirmations…it’s all such a joke.  And really all I want is my family’s approval - I’ve worked so hard to get it but it seems like all I’ve worked for is trash. Time after time after time: “You’re so much smarter than that. You could do so much better. “ Sometimes I can’t even sleep with their comments in my head, and sometimes I question if it’s their comments or maybe they are my thoughts too…

Anyway, I can’t keep doing this - I feel like shit and I’m at my breaking point. I’ve been told therapy can help, I guess I’m ready to find out.

I’m glad you found my webpage. I can help! Our work will focus on understanding who you are and how you can feel confident in your choices.

I am an LMFT at Beehive Counseling with experience working with individual adults. I work with people ages 18 and up and love using DBT, mindfulness, and play and art therapy to help people heal from traumatic life experiences. I also work with individuals struggling in their relationships.

Why see an LMFT individually? LMFTs are trained to view individuals within the context of their relationships (a "systems perspective"). We are skilled at identifying and addressing generational patterns and current structural dynamics that may be contributing to an individual's challenges.

My Approach:

We’ll work together to co-create goals. If you’d like to take the lead, I’m here for it. If you need a little more structure, that’s okay too. It’s my hope that you’ll experience therapy with me as a safe and creative space to be your whole self, and to grow. You’ve got big dreams - don’t give up on them.

Does insurance cover the cost of therapy sessions?

At this time, I take Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Husky/Medicaid, Aetna, and Cigna/Evernorth and Optum/Connecticare/United. I will also work with your out of network (OON) benefits and offer a sliding scale.
