“I don’t even know where to start. Every day feels like I’m walking through mud—slow, heavy, and pointless. The little things, like brushing my teeth or replying to a message, feel like mountains. I don’t understand why everything feels so hard lately. Or maybe it’s not just lately. Maybe it’s always been like this, and I’m only now too tired to keep pretending it’s not. I keep looking around and wondering how everyone else seems to have it figured out. Like they know who they are or at least have some kind of direction. I don’t even know what I want, let alone who I am. I just feel…empty. Or sometimes too full. Of thoughts, of noise, of pressure. Like I’m constantly carrying something no one else can see. Like if I tried to explain how messy it is inside my head, people would just look at me like I’m broken. So, I don’t explain. I just say, “I’m tired,” or “I’ve been busy,” and smile like I’m okay. But I’m not okay. I don’t want to feel like this forever.”

Hi, I’m Julia, and I am so glad you’re here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut. I have experience in a wide variety of settings from School Social Work, Partial Hospitalization/ Intensive Outpatient Programs, to Outpatient Therapy. I work with individuals aged 12 and up. As an openly LGBTQIA+ clinician, I bring a personal understanding of the complexities and resilience within our community. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe to explore their identities, heal from past experiences, and build meaningful, authentic lives. Being out allows me to show up fully and connect with clients through shared understanding and trust.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults because I know this chapter of life can be full of both potential and pressure. Maybe you feel like you don’t quite fit in anywhere, or you wonder why things that seem easy for other people feel so hard for you. You might not have the words for it yet—but you know something feels off, and you’re tired of pretending everything’s fine.

I want you to know you’re not alone in that feeling. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform or have it all figured out. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, identity questions, school or work pressures, social struggles, or just that constant inner voice telling you you’re not enough—I’m here to help you slow down, sort through it, and start healing.

My Approach

Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded in trust. I’ll meet you with curiosity, kindness, and zero judgment. We’ll work together to understand your experiences and build tools that feel doable, not overwhelming. I enjoy incorporating DBT, mindfulness, and expressive therapies into my sessions, but most of all, I center our sessions around you. What you’re feeling, what matters to you, and what helps you move forward. It’s a privilege to witness the resilience of my clients, and it would be an honor to work with you.

If any of this sounds familiar, or you’re just feeling curious about therapy, I’d love to connect!

Does insurance cover the cost of therapy sessions?

At this time, I take Husky/Medicaid. I am also in the paneling process with Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Anthem BCBS, and Optum/Connecticare/United. I also work with out-of-network (OON) benefits and I offer a self-selecting sliding scale.
